Students complain of neglect in Kyrgyzstan

MALAPPURAM: Indian students trapped in Kyrgyzstan, the violence-torn Central Asian country, had to go without proper food and accommodation for the third day on Wednesday. Although they were shifted to safer places, the students are unhappy about the neglect shown by the Indian authorities. The Indian Embassy here told us today to buy flight tickets on our own if we want to return home, M. Noufal, a medical undergraduate from Thalakkadathur, Tirur, told The Hindu on Wednesday evening.

Mr. Noufal is among the 105 Indian students trapped in Kyrgyzstan. Besides him, three other Keralites are also studying at Osh State University of Kyrgyzstan. They are Anil K. Mathew from Moothedam, Nilambur; M. Fazil from Karulai, Nilambur; and Abdul Gafoor from Pattarkulam, Manjeri.
