KOCHI: Kerala High Court judge Justice Thottathil Radhakrishnan will on Saturday inaugurate a new home for abandoned infants and children to be run under the aegis of the Corporation of Kochi at Panakkattampally, Thammanam.
The �Vatsalya Bhavan-Ammthottil will be a 3,000-sq. ft. facility. It is the first of its kind for abandoned infants to be run by the City Corporation, said Mayor Mercy Williams here on Friday. She said that the Corporation already had facilities for abandoned children and adults.
The inauguration is slated for 3 p. m. on Saturday, said Prof. Williams.
Deputy Mayor of the Corporation C. K. Manishankar will deliver the keynote address.
The new facility is being set up under the Cochin Urban Poverty Reduction Project. It will be taken care of by the Don Bosco Welfare Centre Society.
