THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Thilakan appeared before Labour Commissioner C. Reghu and urged him to ensure the right to work.
On the basis of a complaint filed by social worker Noornad Sreekumar before the State Human Rights Commission saying that Mr.Thilakan was denied of opportunities and the right to work, the commission had directed Mr. Reghu to submit a report on the issue.
Mr.Reghu issued notices to the office-bearers of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), Mr.Thilakan and the complainant.
But AMMA representatives and Mr. Sreekumar did not turn up for the hearing here.
Mr. Sreekumar had informed the commissioner that he was indisposed and was unable to appear on Monday.
Mr.Reghu postponed the hearing to June 17.
