Kodiyeri should quit: BJP

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan should resign in view of the High Courts observations on lock-up deaths in the State, BJP spokesman George Kurian said in a statement here on Wednesday.

The State recorded the highest number of lock-up deaths in the country. The Home Department had failed to prevent torture in custody though more than one lock-up death had been reported from some police stations
