KATTAPPANA: Minister for Coir and Co-operation G. Sudhakaran will inaugurate the first super specialty hospital in the co-operative sector on Friday at Thankamany in Idukki district. The hospital will address the health needs of the people in the backward areas.
In the first of the project, the hospital, with an area of 9.500 sq.ft., has X-ray, ECG, lab, ICU, operation theatre, labour room, a pay ward and a 24-hour functioning emergency section. After the inauguration, more specialties like gynaecology, paediatrics and general medicine will be arranged at the hospital.
The office-bearers of the hospital said that arrangements have been made to give concession to all those who are included in the Complete Health Insurance Scheme implemented by the State government
