Flyover to be ready before end of April

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister for Public Works P.J. Joseph has said that work on the Bakery Junction flyover will be completed before April 30.



He was speaking at a review meeting of the City Road Improvement Project (CRIP) here on Tuesday. The meeting was held to discuss the progress of road improvement on all the stretches falling under the project.



A statement released here said that all work, including tarring, on the Kowdiar-Kuravankonam stretch would be completed before March 25. Work on the Kowdiar-Narmada road would be completed by March 20, while that on the Ambalamukku-Peroorkada road would be completed before May 15.



The statement said work on the Peroorkada-Vazhayila road, the KIMS bridge, the Chakka bridge and the Vellayambalam-Sasthamangalam stretch would be completed by May 30, April 30, May 31 and March end, respectively.



The meeting decided to consider giving alternative land in return for the land acquired from the Devaswom board for road improvement.
