KOCHI: Public should be educated properly about blood donation to dispel misconceptions, Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan Saturday said.
There were lot of apprehensions and misconceptions in the mind of the people regarding blood donation and proper information needed to be provided to them to motivate them to donate blood, he said in his inaugural address at the silver jubilee celebration of the IMA Blood Bank here.
Stressing the need to have more volunteers to donate blood, he said in Chennai and many other cities in Tamil Nadu many hospitals have lists of voluntary blood donors.
Appreciating the good work being done by Indian doctors and nurses in hospitals abroad, he said if they decided to return home the health system of many countries would be affected.
