Agency to set up community colleges at 100 centres in State

KOCHI: The Bharat Sevak Samaj (BSS) will start community colleges for vocational training in 100 centres across the State by the 2011. Addressing a press conference here, B.S. Balachandran, national general secretary of the BSS, said that the organisation would give shape to a diversification scheme whereby those coming for training in one job were imparted training and knowledge in other related vocations.

As part of organising vocational education campaign across the country, the BSS will organise a nation-level vocational education meet at the MES Centre at Kaloor on May 29. Dominic Presentation, MLA, will preside. Former Judge of the Supreme Court V.R. Krishna Iyer and Philip Augustine, managing director, Lakeshore Hospital, will be honoured at the function.
