Allegations unproven, says Thachankary

Kochi: The suspended Inspector-General of Police Tomin J. Thachankary on Wednesday informed the Central Administrative Tribunal, Ernakulam Bench, that the allegations levelled by the State government against him had not been substantiated by any material.

In reply to the governments statement, he said that wild allegations such as misuse of official vehicle, publishing photograph in uniform unauthorisedly, frequent foreign visits, possession of multiple passports etc were raised against him as part of character assassination. He had not violated any service rule and his action did not constitute misconduct, warranting a suspension. The order was actuated by mala fides.
