Yasin Bhatkal was on Kerala police radar

KOZHIKODE: Ahamed Yasin alias Yasin Bhatkal alias Wasim, the main suspect behind the blasts at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and the explosion at the German Bakery in Pune, has been on the radar of the Kerala police for more than a year.

The Kerala police had alerted the Central agencies about the activities of Yasin before the Pune blast, sources said. The police suspect that Yasin had come to Kerala and met bomb-making expert E T Sainudheen in 2007.

After the detailed interrogation of Thadiyantavide Nazeer, the Kerala police have come to the conclusion that it was Yasin who came to Kuttippuram to meet Sainudheen, Abdul Rahim and Nazeer seeking help to make bombs. Earlier, the assumption was that it was Riyaz Bhatkal who came to Kuttippuram
