THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Cabinet decided on Wednesday to urge Railways to have the proposed coach factory at Kanjikode in Palakkad in the public sector. If it is to be taken up in the joint sector, the value of land acquired by the State government for the project should be treated as the States equity in the project.
The Cabinet also decided to call upon the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation to review the decision to introduce user fee for flights departing from the newly constructed international terminal in the Thiruvananthapuram airport.
The Indian Army will be given 35 cents at Mulavana village in Kollam district on lease to set up a polyclinic for ex-servicemen. The lease will be for 30 years. About two acres at Koyipady village in Kasaragod district will be given to the State Dairy Development Department for setting up a milk chilling-cum-packing unit.
One or two Ministers will directly oversee the implementation of plans in each district during the fifth year of the Left Democratic Front government. The government has drawn up detailed plans for each department and identified flagship programmes to be implemented at various places.
