Wipro to give priority to BPO ventures in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, INDIA: Wipro chairman Azim Premji said that Wipro would expand its campus in Kochi and give priority to BPO ventures related to the law and finance in the state.

Premji made this promise in a meeting with Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan here on Thursday.

The Wipro chairman, who was in Thiruvananthapuram for the RBI Central Board meeting, also led a small delegation to meet the Chief Minister, who handles the IT portfolio in the state.

In response to the Wipro chairmans suggestion that the government should make sure that police aid post and police patrolling are implemented in Kochi Infopark so that the customers in the West would have more confidence in the facility, the Chief Minister promised that he would take necessary actions in this regard.

Wipro has completed the construction of a million square feel building in the 25-acre Kochi campus and 1900 people are already working there, said Premji.
