KSFE norms hit collection agents

Thiruvananthapuram: The pro-INTUC Kerala State Financial Enterprises Agents Union is up in arms against the decision of the Kerala State Financial Enterprises (KSFE) board to impose certain regulations on collection of funds for its various chitties.

The KSFE board had imposed the regulations on the grounds that the commission earned by collection agents was disproportionate to the efforts and time devoted to their task in view of the proliferation of chitties. Some of the agents earned huge amounts of commission in one collection drive because of this, the board said in its order.

The union had termed the board order as anti-labour and a violation of the labour laws. The union, in a statement here on Thursday, said the board had in effect gone back on its promise of giving incentive to the agents who were pressurised to campaign for various special schemes of KSFE.
