Money chain scheme: one held

KOCHI: The City Police arrested the main accused in the case registered for cheating many after offering them profits through a money chain scheme.

Jayaprakash, 38, was the main partner of Jains Care Marketing from K.K. Road, Kaloor. Another partner of the company Indrakumar, 40, was arrested earlier and he is now out on bail. The police are on the look out for two more persons in this case.

On hearing about the arrest of Jayaprakash, more than 100 persons approached Ernakulam Town North Police with complaints. Among those cheated are senior police officials, a government pleader, advocates and officials and many have lost between Rs. 14 to 20 lakh.

North sub-inspector Nizamudeen arrested Jayaprakash when he reached Kochi from Chennai to settle claims by some of the investors. Held for impersonation

A young woman, who was earlier involved in the case related to the suicide of a merchant, was arrested by the city police for impersonating a woman sub-inspector
