Kozhikode: Members of various employees unions, including the Calicut University Teachers Association and Calicut University Staff Organisation, will take out a march to the venue of the Senate meeting of the University of Calicut on the campus at Thenhipalam on Saturday.
Representatives of employees organisations at a press conference here on Friday said the march was planned demanding the removal of T.K. Narayanan from his post as Sanskrit professor and as the acting Registrar of the university in the light of a recent notification of the Chancellor to this effect following a High Court verdict. General secretary of the Calicut University Staff Organisation (CUSO) U.V. Rajagopal said what was going on at the university in the case of Mr. Narayanans appointment was completely illegal and unheard of. The Chancellor and the High Court were convinced of the blatant anomaly involved in the appointment of Mr. Narayanan, he said.
Calicut University Teachers Association secretary K.V. Lazar, member R. Surendran and CUSO president P. Premarajan among others were present
