MALAPPURAM: A meeting of the Calicut University Senate held here on Saturday was disrupted over the continuation of T.K. Narayanan as acting Registrar.
Vice-Chancellor Anwar Jahan Zuberi, who chaired the meeting, had to adjourn the meeting when members owing allegiance to the United Democratic Front (UDF) stalled the proceedings over the issue.
The problem started when P. Mohanan sought a point of order seeking the removal of Mr. Narayanan from his post as Sanskrit professor and as the acting Registrar of the university in the light of a recent notification of the Chancellor to this effect following a High Court verdict.
