Mangalore, Jun 7: The cloudy weather and light drizzle being experienced in the coastal districts of Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Kasargod since the past couple of days turned into heavy rain on Sunday June 6. Intermittent downpour, which lashed the districts on Sunday morning, afternoon and evening, again soaked them in the night and also on the morning of Monday June 7.
Heavy rain with lightning was experienced in Bantwal taluk on Sunday morning and afternoon. It appears that Beltangady is the only taluk where overcast skies gave an indication of heavy rains, but the expectations of the people were belied as they did not get any rain. So far, no loss to lives and property due to rain has been reported from these districts.
