THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala University Vice-Chancellor A. Jayakrishnan gave away the Business Plan 2010 awards at a function held at the Mar Baselious College here recently.
The awards, instituted by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, are intended to prepare management and engineering students for opportunities in entrepreneurship.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell under the Institute of Management in Kerala (IMK), the implementing agency for Business Plan 2010 in Kerala, received 71 business proposals from different colleges in the State. Various parameters like management capacity, quality of the ideas for change, financial health and ability to transform, physical resource base etc., were analysed. As many as 21 applications were shortlisted for the initial screening by a panel of adjudicators comprising representatives from the academic community, business and industry.
