THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government proposes to bring 22 lakh families under the Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme during its second year of implementation this year.
Labour Minister P.K. Gurudasan said here on Thursday that all SC/ST families, fish workers families, agricultural workers, tailoring workers, cashew pensioners, handloom, khadi, beedi and reed and allied areas and small plantation workers and their families and pensioners of boards which functioned in these areas would be brought under the scheme.
Anganwadi workers and the families of workers who had worked for at least 50 days under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme would also be covered by the scheme this time.
