Call to settle strike at Kanjikode unit

PALAKKAD: M.B. Rajesh, MP, has urged the management of the Central public sector unit Instrumentation Limited, Kanjikode, to settle the indefinite strike launched by its workers on June 3.

Inaugurating a protest meeting organised by the Instrumentation Workers Union affiliated to the CITU at the company gate on Friday, Mr. Rajesh said the management should hold talks with the union and settle the strike in the interest of the company and its future.

He said he would take up the issue with Union Industries Minister and Industries Secretary in New Delhi on June 15.

Meanwhile, INTUC district president K. Appu urged Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan to intervene to settle the strike.
