M.Sc. Wood Science in Kannur varsity

KANNUR: The Kannur Universitys Department of Wood Science and Technology has invited applications for admission to the M.Sc. Wood Science and Technology. Only the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun and Kannur University offer the course in India.

The first batch of students was admitted in October 2007. The course has an annual intake of 15 students. The course is structured on a credit semester system consisting of four semesters.

The curriculum is so designed that industry-related experiments and projects are carried out in actual production plants.

The unique feature of the course was the active interaction with wood technology experts at the Western India Plywoods Ltd. at Valapattanam. The curriculum allowed students to have a hands-on experience in the industry, course director S. Vinod Kumar said.
