KOCHI: The Kerala Ayurveda Mandalam would get the support of the Union Government in their project to cultivate medicinal plants.
This was stated by the Union Minister for State for Agriculture K. V. Thomas during the inaugural function of the golden jubilee year celebration of the Mandalam here on Sunday.
The district unit of the Mandalam announced the launch of this scheme during the function. The District Collector has also given the nod to utilise the 10 acres of the Civil Station premises to grow medicinal herbs, said the district secretary of the Mandalam, G. K. Menon.
The agenda for the year includes conducting medical camps in every taluk and to run campaigns for better awareness of ayurveda and growing medicinal herbs that would be given to every home.
