KOCHI: Education Minister M.A. Baby has blamed some school managements in the aided sector for the adverse comments made by the High Court regarding infrastructure facilities.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here on Tuesday, Mr. Baby, however, said the government would consider the High Court observation as a motivation to vigorously take forward its initiative to improve infrastructure facilities in schools.
He said the government was paying salary to the teaching and non-teaching staff in the aided sector. However, it was the responsibility of the managements to put in place toilets and other infrastructure facilities in such institutions.
Asked whether the government would initiate action against schools which failed to ensure infrastructure facilities, Mr. Baby said administrative sanction was not the solution to the problem. The government stand was to find a solution to the issue through consultations with the managements, he said.
