KANNUR: An empty LPG tanker lorry rammed into a shop here on Tuesday morning causing disruption of road traffic on the National Highway near the Thana junction.
The tanker lorry was on its way from Kozhikode to Mangalore when it slammed into the ground floor of a shopping complex at Thana.
The incident occurred at around 3.30 a.m. The vehicle stopped after hitting the shutters of the shop. The drivers cabin of the tanker lorry was damaged in the accident. The driver and cleaner of the vehicle were not injured.
It took nearly four hours to remove the tanker lorry from the spot. Road traffic on National Highway was hit for some time while the tanker lorry was being hauled out.
