CPI-M\'s protest aimed at diverting public attention: KPCC

KOZHIKODE: The Congress Monday said the CPI-M sponsored five-day blockade in front of Central Government offices against hike in prices of essential goods was a ploy to divert public attention on the Governments failure to contain price rise.

The five-day picketing of Central Government offices by CPI-M from today was aimed at diverting public attention against the steep hike in prices of essential commodities and it is purely an anti-people move, KPCC spokesman M M Hassan told reporters here.

Admitting that the Centre has a major role in arresting the general price rise, Hassan however alleged that the Left Front Government had not come out with any proposals in the budget to contain price rise by allocating funds to agencies like Supplyco.
