TPURAM: One more succumbed to injuries at the Medical College Hospital here Sunday, taking the toll to three after a truck ran into a road-side meeting of manual workers at Vellarada.
The accident took place Saturday evening and two of the victims died on the spot, while another died here Sunday.
The truck first hit a lorry and then rammed into the gathering of about 250 workers and local panchayat authorities who were discussing the implementation of a project taken up under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
The incident shocked the entire village, located on the borders of Tamil Nadus Kanyakumari district.
The five injured, whose condition was not serious, had been admitted to nearby hospitals.
