THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition UDF members staged a walkout in the Assembly on Monday accusing the government of adopting a casual attitude towards the attack on rubber plantations near Thiruvalla in which around 1,500 rubber trees were felled allegedly by CPI(M) activists.
The walkout came after the government rejected the Opposition demand for adjournment of the proceedings to discuss the attack.
Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said a special squad would investigate the attack. .
