THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) executive vice-president C.T.S. Nair has urged students to adopt corrective measures to prevent exploitation of natural resources.
He was inaugurating a State-level workshop for selection of best National Green Corps (NGC) school at the Centre for Earth Science Studies (CESS) here on Thursday.
R.V.G. Menon presided over the inaugural session. CESS director-in-charge T. Radhakrishnan, National Green Corps Thiruvananthapuram district coordinator K.G. Ajit Kumar, State Nodal Officer, National Green Corps, Kamalakshan Kokkal and KSCSTE scientific officer P. Harinarayanan spoke.
As many as 150 participants, including teachers, students and NGC district coordinators, from select schools in 14 districts in the State are taking part in the two-day workshop. The district-level and State-level winners for the premier prizes instituted by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment will be decided in the workshop. The awards will be declared at the valedictory session to be held on Friday.
