Thiruvananthapuram: Local Self-government Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty, on Thursday, inaugurated an online system for accessing and issue of birth, death and marriage certificates from local bodies at the City Corporation office here.
The system has been installed by the Information Kerala Mission (IKM), an e-governance cell under the Local Self-government Department. The Sevana Civil Registration software developed by the IKM will enable online verification of birth, death and marriage certificates registered at local bodies.
The public will also be able to download and print the certificates from the Sevana web site using the facility.
Mr. Mohammed Kutty said at the function that the State had made a giant leap in e-governance by becoming the first in the country to have an online system for issuing birth, death and marriage certificates.
