Thiruvananthapuram: Five of a family, including a three-year-old boy and his parents, were killed when the car in which they were travelling collided with another car on Main Central Road at Kilimanoor, nearly 45 km from here, on Thursday evening.
Four persons, including two children, were also injured in the collision, which occurred around 6 p.m.
The dead were identified as Naushad, 37, a Gulf-returnee, his wife, Shyamna, 27, mother, Harisa Beevi, 58, sister, Haseena, 37, and son, Jabar, 3, all residents of Nilamel in Kollam district.
The injured included Naushads mother-in-law, Nazeera Beevi, and her two grandchildren, Nazia, 12, and Afsal, 8, and Anish Muhammad, 25, driver of the second car involved in collision. The police said Anish was Naushads relative and neighbour.
