PWD tender forms only through website

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the first step towards introducing e-tendering in the Public Works Department (PWD), the government has decided to publish the tender notice, form and schedule on the official website.

A notification issued by the government said contractors should download the tender notice, form and schedule from the website. Along with the completed tender and other documents, the cost of the tender form should be submitted to the office concerned as demand draft. Cheques will not be accepted and the tenders and drafts will be accepted in the office by courier only.

The government has issued orders to complete the works in a time-bound manner to avoid cost escalation due to delay in completing the projects. Extension of time frame will be given only once. If it is extended for the second time, the penalty will be levied from the contractor. The contract will be cancelled and fresh tenders will be invited if it is not completed on expiry of the second extension.
